4 Email List Tips and Tricks

Struggling to build and maintain that email list? Read these tips when composing your next email campaign:

  1. Lead magnets and contests. Lead magnets can be anything that encourages potential clients to sign up for your email list. It could be a free e-book or resource guide, a checklist or a template - the sky's the limit here! In order to access the freebie, visitors have to sign up for your email list. The same goes for contests! These build your email list quickly and easily and provide you with quality leads who are interested in your niche. They wouldn’t sign up for a contest or giveaway from you if they weren’t interested in what you provide.

  2. Drive customers to your website. You want visitors to your website for a few reasons. Firstly, it should be the platform that is most authentically YOU. You’re not confined by social media platforms or bio limits, you can communicate your business and brand in whatever way feels most true to you. Secondly, it allows you to track metrics. With your website, you can monitor traffic, bounce rates, conversion rates, and lead generation. It’s much more complex and valuable than something simple like follower count. Your social media and email marketing should always direct customers to your website, not the other way around.

  3. Simple branding. While design trends and industry standards are constantly changing, there is one constant: simplicity. From logos to websites to advertising, simple design and branding should be something that ties it all together. Simple designs increase accessibility and also are easier to process and remember, making them more effective for your brand! Ignoring this key tenet of marketing, while building your email list and sending out email marketing to subscribers, could be a waste of your time! Ensure your branding is simple and cohesive before making efforts to generate leads and send your emails and save yourself time and energy.

  4. Consistent branding and social media. Your customers should be able to tell it’s you across all platforms (email marketing, social media, website, etc.) so you need to build a cohesive brand and ensure you stick to it. Rebranding isn’t a bad thing, but you don’t want to be doing it daily! All of the above tips could be wasted if your email marketing looks and sounds nothing like your social media or website!
